The iron ore train is based on the train seving Blisworth Quarries.
Empties were pulled from Blisworth Junction by a shunter and fulls pushed back.
Owing to the layout of Shutlanger Sidings this is reversed
Empty iron ore tipplers are pulled to Shutlanger Sidings and fulls pushed back
The sidings are shunted by the British Railways shunter
They are laid out so the quarry company cannot shunt onto the running lines
Shutlanger (Exchange) Sidings Ground Frame Hut Spur Milk Platform
The ground from controls access to/from Shutlanger (Exchange) Sidings
The spur is the link to the quarry. The photo shows staff accommodation, coal store etc
The milk platform were full milk churns were collected and empties returned rather dated by British Railways days
